Eight years in and Cross Street still has that rebellious little streak I love. Taking over Cross Street in the heart of K Road, the festival starts free and family friendly before switching gears into an R18 ticketed event from late afternoon, with more free happenings scattered along the strip. It's urban, independent and unmistakably Auckland — less fenced-off festival bubble, more neighbourhood takeover.
